Self Reflection:
What did I learn about myself this year as a student and as a person?
This year I felt that I learned that I work best under teachers that motivate me by caring how I perform on the work that I turn in. I learned that I can work well in a regimented system as long as I have time to get acclimated to the system. I also learned this year that I get shut down when I feel like my teacher doesn't value his or her students, not that that's how it is in this class, but I learned that it is best if just try to intellectualize the situation (Freud) in order to get through the best I can with the best attitude possible.
Societal Reflection:
What did I learn about society, social mores, social issues, and social systems? This year I feel like I learned that behind every action there is a motivation whether it be anxiety or intrinsic or extrinsic values. I feel like I learned that social mores and social systems are solely determined by the majority, and I learned that no matter what, those with skill in language are less dependent, more successful, and ultimately better off thanthose without the skill.
Universal Reflections:
What did I learn about society, social mores, social issues, and social systems?
I learned society is universally driven by selfishness, whether it be through Marxist-style selfishness or personal selfishness like Freud's Id. Individuals attempt to make the most selfish decisions they can without violating their own values. Universally there are also somethings that do not differentiate like belief in supernatural aid, conflict driven by class struggle, and decision-making to further the self.
